Become a Member of the Frederick Regional Youth Orchestra

Frederick Regional Youth Orchestra will hold auditions for new members on Wednesday and Thursday, August 18th and 19th, 2010 at the Frederick Church of the Brethren and encourages string, brass, woodwind and percussion players to try out for our 2010-11 season.

FRYO offers students the opportunity to play a varied musical repertoire in four performance groups: advanced full orchestra, intermediate full orchestra, and beginning wind and string ensembles. Master classes, sectional coaching and chamber ensembles are part of our program. Rehearsals are held on Monday nights during the school year at the Frederick Church of the Brethren, located at 2nd St. and Fairview Ave. Frederick Regional Youth Orchestra is a non-profit, 501c3 organization supported in part by the Frederick Arts Council and the Maryland State Arts Council.

Membership in the Frederick Regional Youth Orchestra is through audition and is open to upper elementary through high school students who have played their instrument for at least one year. There is a $10 audition fee for prospective new members. A limited number of need-based scholarships for tuition are available. To schedule an audition please call Peggy Alley at 301-695-1187.
